I am sorry there was no newsletter in December last year but the good news is that we have now moved to a new e-Newsletter format. Hopefully this format is easier to browse and use. So welcome to our 7th volume and our first e-Newsletter.
This newsletter is one of the ways we keep in touch with you about veterinary education. Two of the other very important ways are illustrated below: our visit program run by Dr Geoff Scarlett and our PiVE Conference held each July.
This year’s PiVE Conference will be held at the Veterinary Science Conference Centre on the Sydney campus. Our very special guest speaker this year is Associate Professor Jörg Steiner (pictured) from Texas A&M University. Dr Steiner is a world leader in small animal gastroenterology. Dr Geoff Scarlett has now visited staff from over 130 practices located in NSW and ACT as part of our Partners in Veterinary Education Visit Program. Geoff’s contributions to the Faculty through these visits and his discussions with students about final year placement opportunities have been invaluable.
